Making apple juice
The apples and/or pears just need to be clean before you tip them straight into the fruit mill, where the fruit is efficiently crushed. Instructions with recipes for apple juice, cider and wine are supplied with the set.
The drip tray and pressing plate are made of stainless steel. The rest is made of heavy-gauge, powder-coated sheet steel. The slats of the press basket are made of beech – a hardwood that doesn't absorb liquid unless it's exposed to damp conditions for long periods. The arm with the pressing plate and screw can easily be swung aside when the press basket needs filling or emptying.
This product is made in Italy by a company that has been making specialist equipment for the wine, juice and olive oil industries for decades.
For an extra press bag for this type of press, see item number 3062a.
NB: For quick storage of freshly pressed apple juice in the freezer, we recommend bag-in-box bags (3 litres): see item no. 3067.
Fruit mill:
Hopper: 420 x 360 mm
Hopper capacity: approx. 20 litres.
The hoppers on the fruit mills are made of stainless steel. The mill works most efficiently mounted over a tub or on sturdy legs, where continuous operation is possible. In the picture, the mill is placed on a 60-litre conical tub, item number 3028 – as opposed to placing the mill on the press basket, where there isn't much stability.
The blades are very sharp and very solidly mounted, see picture 2.
For legs for the fruit mill, see item number 3070 – a very ergonomic solution for this product.
NB: The 60-litre conical tub shown is not included. It has item number 3028.
